Murder on Tyneside (Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 1)

"Delightfully entertaining." - Readers' Favorite
Recently widowed Agnes Lockwood is spending a few days on Tyneside in Northeast England, catching up with her past.
But after only a few days at the hotel, an expensive item of jewelry is stolen. When more jewelry goes missing, Chief Inspector Alan Johnson gets on the case. After Alan recognizes Agnes as a friend from schooldays and they rekindle their friendship, Agnes begins bombarding him with questions about the case.
After dinner one evening, they find a body lying on the roadside. Fearing for her safety, Alan warns Agnes to stay away from the case: theft is one thing, but murder is something else.
But being an inquisitive woman, Agnes cannot resist getting involved... too involved.
Praise for MURDER ON TYNESIDE:
"A fun and intricate mystery with a ton of twists and turns" - M.A. Stanley, Amazon review
"Has the feel of a classic mystery, with a modern flare... A fun British whodunit." - D.L. Finn, Amazon review
Eileen Thornton now lives in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. However, she was born and brought up on Tyneside; the setting for her latest novel.
Though she only began writing in 2001, many of her short stories and articles have appeared in national magazines in the UK. But then she felt the urge to move on to writing something grittier.
Her first novel, The Trojan Project, an action thriller, was published in 2008. "While writing it, I felt I was on the ride of my life. I tried to grab everyone's attention from the very start and give them a rollercoaster read."
Since then, Eileen has concentrated on women's fiction. Divorcees.Biz, a novel of fun and romance, was published in 2012 with Only Twelve Days, a heart-warming romance, following in November 2013.
But, deciding to write a cozy murder mystery, she chose her hometown as the setting. Murder on Tyneside - Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 1, was released 30th December 2016.
On 7th March 2018, Death on Tyneside - Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 2 was published.
Agnes is up to her tricks again, much to the annoyance of DCI Alan Johnson.
