It's me again, Norma Elliot. I'm still ten years old and sharper than a tack, as my dad likes to say.

"Spring Fever" is my second book, about what I did last spring—mostly learning life lessons again and talking to God in my secret journal. The title is a great big hint of how I felt for at least part of the season.

I'm still not a perfect angel kid; actually, the more I write in my journal, the more I realize I'm surely not perfect.

Working at my first job, planting a garden, dealing with an annoying drunk slug, as well as annoying people, are some of the things you'll read in this book.

If you liked my first story, "’Tis the Season," then I hope you'll like "Spring Fever." I think, I mean, I hope you'll like it just as much or maybe even more.

Having read Norma Elliot's T'is the Season', I could not wait to read the sequel 'Spring Fever'. What began to be a 'Journal to God' as a Christmas gift expanded to a secret diary about Norma's 'mis'-adventures growing up as a ten-year-old. Somehow with every little thing, some kind of disaster occurred that included some learning experience she would share with God. In a typical family, relationships with her siblings, best friend Taylor, and boy-pests in her class, nothing turned out as she had envisioned. Seeing life through the eyes of a ten-year-old provided much reminiscing of my own youth, now looking at it with a sense of humor. Most enjoyable, very funny book that both the young and old will find extremely entertaining.

Victoria was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, to an Austrian immigrant mother and a Dutch immigrant father. She now calls Western Washington home. Besides her writing career, Victoria taught elementary-school art for several years. Her past times are writing, reading, painting watercolors. She likes to read theological as well as some fantasy genres. Two authors she is fond of are R.C. Sproul and C.S. Lewis.

About Harry James Fox

Harry James "Jim" Fox has ridden horseback over much of the landscape that appears in his novels, since he was born and raised on a ranch in western Colorado. His love of horses and ancient/medieval weapons, as well as his military training (US Army Command and General Staff College, Air Force War College) make his discussion of military matters (ancient and modern) gripping and credible.

His first book, "CrossCurrents" was a finalist in the International Book Awards competition.
His novel, "The Stonegate Sword" was an Award-Winning Finalist in the 2015 International Book Awards Competition. It also is a 5-Star rated book by Reader's Choice.

He has a B.S. and M. S. from Colorado State University, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, a Ph.D. in Theology, and has served as an army officer, natural resource manager, counterintelligence agent, pastor, missionary and seminary teacher. What inspired you to write Stopped Cold?

As a college student then later as a young Mom, I knew of children, teens and young adults affected in a devastating way because they didn’t always excel. The results ranged from heartache in children over not winning a race or making all As to suicide attempts and suicide in young adults. I’m not sure if these sad situations crossed my path more than they did that of others or not, but the more pain I witnessed, the more I wished these children, teens and young adults had believed they did not have to be the best, but do their best. Even though the drive seemed to originate from different sources - parents, siblings, peer pressure or within - I wanted to tell them that God had given each of them a gift or gifts to use for Him, and they didn’t need to be #1. The theme rattled around in my head for years until finally, I put it in Stopped Cold.

Synopsis

Things aren't what they seem in peaceful Mistville, North Carolina.

Margaret McWhorter enjoys a laid-back Freshman year in high school swimming and hanging out with friends—until the day her brother, Sean, suffers a stroke from taking steroids. Now he's lying unconscious in a hospital.

Anger sets a fire for retribution inside her, and Margaret vows to make the criminals pay. Even the cop on the case can't stop her from investigating. Looking for justice, she convinces two friends, Jimmy and Emily to join her in a quest that takes them through a twisted, drug-filled sub-culture they discover deep in the woods behind the school. Time and again they walk a treacherous path, and come face-to-face with danger.

All the while Margaret really wants to cure Sean, heal the hate inside, and open her heart to love.

Wow! This book had my attention from the first page! I read this book in one evening! Even though this is a young adult book, I really enjoyed it. It is told from the first person point of view which is my favorite way to tell a story. It is written from Margaret, a teenager's point of view. It has a little suspense and a little romance in it. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!

I loved this story. Took me only 1 1/2 days to read. The book contains romance, mystery, love of family and also family problems, drug abuse and peer pressure. Told from a teenagers perspective and how she deals with a family crisis. She has a strong love for her brother and will stop at nothing to help him.

Well written and held my interest all the way. Good read for any age but especially for teenagers and parents.

Stopped Cold captured my attention right from the start. Showing the dangers of drugs, Stopped Cold is a book that all teens should read.

The way the book is crafted makes it extremely easy to connect with the characters. I loved the way the suspense is built. And as for the ending, well, God often uses the bad to draw people closer to him, as Margaret discovers in this adrenaline building tale.

Silver's Redemption

Silver Fellowes didn’t see it coming. At fifty-six years old, she is a high paid professional PR executive for a prominent company. Or at least, she was. Unexpectedly, she is fired and replaced by a tall blonde bombshell.

The ranch is nestled in the foothills twenty miles from Diamond Gulch. It is broken down, neglected, and the answer to her prayers. She bought a mule named Joey. They traversed the desert to Diamond Gulch once a month for supplies. She met a few people. Rosalee, owner of the hotel, Smokes, the stableman, and Foley, the sheriff.
Sheriff Foley sees her enter the town with Joey and decides to get Smokes, the stable hand to do his dirty work. He told him to warn Rosalee to keep Silver away from Lily, his girlfriend. He didn’t want the two to meet. He has plans for Silver.
Smokes and Rosalee are a thing. Sort of. He hadn’t worked up the courage to ask her out. Foley told him to use that as an excuse to warn Rosalee. When he walked toward the hotel, he saw Ash Ericcson enter in front of him.
Gulch Inn Hotel stood in the middle of town, and Rosalee, the hotel manager became a trusted friend. Rosalee always tries to find Silver a man. She resists.
While they enjoyed a traditional shot of whiskey, a man bounded through the front door. Ash Ericcson, hand at the local hardware store, handsome, with a shock of rusty colored hair, blue eyes, and an appealing muscular build.
Rosalee introduced them. Her purpose was to push the two together.
There was something about him. Good-looking, confident. A small spark burned, but she resists again.
What happens to a woman whose value was demeaned and chooses isolation instead of socialization? Silver is a woman fighting age related demons and who doesn’t trust her own ability.
Ash Ericcson finds Silver attractive. Her silver hair suits her name, green eyes and tanned skin make her a vision to behold. Ash has his share of admirers, even Foley’s girlfriend, Lily, but Silver is different. No one knows he is an undercover Texas Ranger.
When Ash finds out Foley wants Silver’s mine, he springs into action to hatch a plan to catch him. He draws Silver in to get close to her, a grave mistake.
Ash stays with Silver at the ranch. Love blossoms for the first time and in a real way for Silver. She envisions a future with him.
Together, they work to set a trap for Foley, but before they can close the noose, Silver is kidnapped.
Ash comes to her rescue, along with Smokes and Rosalee, but as the plan is executed Ash’s real identity is uncovered.
Rescued, Silver is grateful, but feels betrayed that Ash didn’t confide in her and pushes him away.
Rosalee suggests Silver run for the mayor position.
Silver protests, but Rosalee presses her on the matter.
Silver rediscovers her value, wins the mayor’s race, and becomes a strong force in Diamond Gulch.
This story is about an older woman, who faced with rejection because of age, finds her worth, regains her confidence, finds love, and brings older and younger women together for a common good.
Romance, mystery, and intrigue abound while addressing the difficulties of aging in this modern world.
