Amazon Review
Having read the first book in this series, I was thrilled to
return to Rancho Allegro and catch up with my favorite sisters , Cody
and Mandy, and their quirky, lovable Aunt Jewell. I could not put this
book down.
I loved the idea of a writers workshop as the premise of
bringing two neighbors together and the introduction of Richard Forbes,
enigmatic writer and his adorable father-in-law Dean, the owner of the
bookstore where the workshop is held.
This series is just so full of
zany, lovable characters that it's a joy to read. Ms. Diamond brings so
much heart and compassion and all the wonderful idiosyncracies to each
one. Bringing characters to life to where they feel like new friends
that we love to visit or absolutely can't stand is difficult, but she
does this so well. It is part of why I really love this series. You just
want to come back to Rancho Allegro and its denizens.
I love too,
how Mandy, the main character was able to let her guard down and find
friendship in other women of the writers circle. As a middle-aged woman
myself, so many of us are searching for this friendship when we find
that our friends have ebbed and flowed over the years, yet we need
connection. I appreciated this so much.
I really look forward to the next book and picking up with sister Sara.
Thank you, Jackie, for such a great book.
