Death on Tyneside (Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 2)

Agnes Lockwood returns to Tyneside, only to stumble across another dead body.

On her first visit, she helped the police solve a murder and gained quite the reputation as an amateur sleuth. Now, she is simply looking forward to meeting again with Alan Johnson, a D.C.I. with the Newcastle police force.

She is hoping their relationship will continue to blossom, but on her first day back in the city, she gets caught up in another murder.

And this time, her intrusion into the police investigation pushes Alan Johnson’s patience to the very limit.

This is a standalone mystery, and can be enjoyed even if you haven't read other books in the series.

★★★★★ - "I couldn't put this one down once I started it... Kept me guessing the whole time, right up to the end."

★★★★★ - "A great mystery that creates fun characters and a forward moving plot."

★★★★★ - "If you like lovely, light mysteries with a clever amateur sleuth who can be too nosy but always kind, you will love this one."

Eileen Thornton now lives in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. However, she was born and brought up on Tyneside; the setting for her latest novel.
Though she only began writing in 2001, many of her short stories and articles have appeared in national magazines in the UK. But then she felt the urge to move on to writing something grittier.
Her first novel, The Trojan Project, an action thriller, was published in 2008. "While writing it, I felt I was on the ride of my life. I tried to grab everyone's attention from the very start and give them a rollercoaster read."
Since then, Eileen has concentrated on women's fiction. Divorcees.Biz, a novel of fun and romance, was published in 2012 with Only Twelve Days, a heart-warming romance, following in November 2013.
But, deciding to write a cozy murder mystery, she chose her hometown as the setting. Murder on Tyneside - Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 1, was released 30th December 2016.
On 7th March 2018, Death on Tyneside - Agnes Lockwood Mysteries Book 2 was published.
Agnes is up to her tricks again, much to the annoyance of DCI Alan Johnson.
