Healing Ruby: A Novel: Healing Ruby Book 1

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen..."
Ruby Graves, a young girl in Depression-era Alabama, faces the hardships of poverty and loss with as much faith as she can muster. At only thirteen she’s already lost a younger brother, and now faces losing both her father and the boy who’s stealing her heart as well. Armed with her beloved Scriptures, she prays daily for their healing, only to have her tender faith shattered.
Through her pain, she’s able to connect with her long-lost Uncle Asa, whose mere presence at his brother’s funeral brings murmurs of a scandalous past involving her parents and a prominent local pastor. When Ruby discovers that one of Asa’s many secrets is an ability to heal, and that she may be next in line for the “gift,” she vows to find the faith that has eluded her so far--a faith that could mean never losing loved ones again.
But according to her father, faith and doubt can’t reside in the same heart, and doubt is Ruby’s constant companion. As she struggles to find the true meaning of faith, she’s opposed at every turn by the pastor who would see her family destroyed and a community that can’t see deeper than the color of one’s skin. Through her search for a faith that could move mountains and a true understanding of her gift, can Ruby trust in a God that may require the ultimate sacrifice?

Honoria and the Family Obligation

Honoria is the shy sister - who would have thought she could land in quite as big a scrape as the audacious Serena?
When the eligible Mr Allison is to come to Fenton Manor to woo Honoria, there is a problem. She doesn't remember what he looked like. Crippled by her timidity, she hardly looked at him when they'd met during her first London season. But he had spoken to her father, determined to ask her for her hand. Her siblings, Serena and Benedict find this highly amusing, but after Honoria overhears a conversation between her parents about their finances she realises she must marry Mr Allison, and this constraint leaves her martyred and unhappy and unable to share her feelings.
When Mr Allison arrives, there is another problem. One to do with her sister Serena.
Mr Allison, (annoyingly handsome and kind) fails to propose as expected and leaves abruptly - but invites the confused family to stay at Bassington Hall, his own country home. His kindness to all her family leaves Honoria with no legitimate excuse to escape marriage. Mr Scribster, his ugly, unpleasant, unfeeling friend, guesses more than she would like and offers Honoria a place to concentrate her dislike and frustration.
Meanwhile Benedict embarks on an adventure with his rogue of an uncle, Wilbert, to save his childhood friend and neighbour Genevieve Horton who has become the unhappy Lady Sumner. By learning some scandalous skills Benedict hopes to give some options to the most trapped figure in all of polite society - an unhappy wife.
When Benedict's life hangs in the balance all the major players are changed forever and the tangle of romance is finally resolved.

What people say about Alicia Cameron’s previous novel:
(Alicia Cameron) is '...a worthy successor to Georgette Heyer’
‘Full of wit and imagination’
‘…an authentic Regency voice’
‘Definitely felt like reading Jane Austen’
‘An episode of Friends set in the 1800s’
‘Wouldn’t we all like to be invited?’

Alicia Cameron is a crime writer with another indulgence - I have always enjoyed the work of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, loving the Regency period and the romance, but especially the wit of the authors.
My interest in crime probably started with the awful kleptomania of my family, stealing these books from each others shelves.
I'm not to be confused with the other Alicia Cameron, who writes very raunchy things indeed - I'm sure excellently.
My Regency romances have very little raunch and a great deal of silliness. Regencies: Clarissa and the Poor Relations, Honoria and the Family Obligation, Angelique and the Pursuit of Destiny (the FREE short for sign up, and SOON Delphine and the Dangerous Arrangement.
The Edwardian series: Francine (a short story about an empowering woman) and Francine 2: Miss Philpott becomes the Fascinating Mathilde (a novella) There is more to come...

Love Ain't No Soap Opera (Shadybrook Series Bk 1)

It’s Mayberry meets Daytime Drama! A curvy Southern soap fan falls for a bad boy soap heartthrob in this Christian romance seasoned with humor and Southern charm.
If there is one lesson that Selah Morgan has learned from years of watching daytime television, it’s that life is more exciting if you are young, rich, and skinny. Ahh, soap opera . . . the land where women are strong, cherished, and cellulite-free, loved ones are never really dead, and irritating people can be recast. Praying for that kind of life, the thirty-something fears she’ll suffocate if she can’t escape her hick hometown, Shadybrook, Virginia, her plus-size body, her failing business, and her feuding family.
It’s almost too good to be true when she wins a trip to New York City and the opportunity to be the SoaperFan for her favorite show, The Winds of Change, as part of a publicity stunt. As she and troubled soap heartthrob, Cane Ashton, work together to save the struggling soap from cancellation, can she trust his growing affections or will her insecurities, his dark secrets, and her meddling momma cost her a dream job and a chance at love in the afternoon?
I write to empower and uplift women struggling with their body image and faith. My dream is that one person who reads my work will look in the mirror and, instead of repeating her daily “I’m so ugly, I’m so fat” mantra, says, “I am so loved.” God has shown me that, through writing, He can turn broken pieces and broken people—like a mosaic made of shattered glass and stone—into something beautiful.

The Watcher King

This is no ordinary kingdom. Therefore, it must have an extraordinary king!

If you love fantasy, mixed with a little horror, Malatthias Sonoseth will take you on an epic journey through the dark shifting forest with seductive, but undead creatures, and to the edge of the Cerulean Sea where worlds and time collide.
Malatthias, after the death of his father, suddenly finds himself the new Watcher King—a king who is not bound to his physical realm or time—a position he had not counted on for at least another 30 years. And something is eerily wrong. Ever since the violent invasion of the Nephilim, the forest seems to be dying, waters of the rivers are turning bitter, and the land is sinking.

Yahweh’s holy Warriors, who will arouse within Malatthias the Watcher powers he has inherited, have come to keep him in line, but will that backfire on them all? And just to complicate the matter the young Watcher King can’t decide between the love of a sultry shepherdess or the mysterious teenager raised by the Eldrids, the ancient Warrior Prophets.
Take this fantastical journey with the young Watcher King and unite the fragmented kingdoms of Pa’raGhon to search out, annihilate, and destroy the unwanted.
Deborah isn't famous for anything ... yet. Might be she's not looking for fame. It's kind of scary, you know? Too many public engagements. She writes a lot of weird, creepy stuff and tends to scare herself as well as innocent family members. A string of Christmas lights stays on right outside her bedroom door. It's better than a night light and easier to explain.

She was born in Hollandia, New Guinea (which apparently belongs to Indonesia now) in 1959. Her parents (a clothes designer and a pastor) traveled from New Guinea (by a US C-130 Hercules cargo plane, or some version thereof) to the Kingdom of the Netherlands where they stayed for a few cold years. Then they boarded the Ship of Maasdam and sailed round the Cape of Good Hope to Australia. After 12 years in Queensland she somehow found herself en route to Washington State in the USA. But she is now firmly, and sort of happily, planted in SoCal.
Deborah writes about writing and such on her blog Alten Ink: She loves to help newbie writers who are even more clueless than she is. Not really, we all have something to contribute, right? Trust me, we do.
She's more at home on her personal blog The Watchers: All Eyes Are On Him at because she gets to create poetry and creepy flash fiction. Mrs. Shackles visits quite often.
For the most part she spends her days blogging, editing, formatting, writing (mostly spec fiction: fantasy, sci/fi, horror) and publishing ... and she also swims a lot of laps because she eats way too much chocolate, bacon, and Jellie Bellies.

Under His Wings

Under His Wings is a bestselling devotional collection of real-life bird encounters enjoyed by the author. Joy had no idea when she moved from the city to the country that God was going to express His love for her and all of us in so many tender moments. You don’t have to be a birdwatcher to enjoy the stories or the life-changing truths in this delightful book.
Joy DeKok
I love words, and enjoy reading them as much as I do writing. My journey into both began when I was four and taught myself how to read. Somehow, I'd noticed the white space between the words she read and realized that's how to know where one word ended and another started. I listened to her say the words as I looked at each one. One day, I just "got" it. When she found me reading to my dolls and stuffed animals, she thought I'd memorized the stories, but handed me a new book and I could read most of it on my own.
That's when I started dreaming about putting my own words on the pages.
Later, I fell in love with libraries, paper, pencils, and pens. With my small weekly allowance (for cleaning my room or helping dust) I'd visit Ben Franklin or Woolworth's, and buy a new tablet, notebook, or pencil. I remember the day when I was allowed to buy a set of Bic ball point pens - oh my goodness! I had blue, black, red, and green to choose from and contained ink - a really big deal to me. It was like graduation day.

Clara is asked to fill in as nightclub entertainment, but her good intentions set her up as accomplice in the blackmailing of a government man who makes the real thugs look classy.
Until Julian and Clara put their heads together for more than dancing the Black Bottom, their big-as-the-night-sky dreams are on target to fail. Maybe they need a telescope to see what’s right in front of their starry eyes.

The Hideaway

Now a USA Today and Amazon Charts Bestseller!
“A story both powerful and enchanting: a don’t-miss novel in the greatest southern traditions of storytelling.” —Patti Callahan Henry, New York Times bestselling author
When her grandmother’s will wrenches Sara back home, she learns more about Margaret Van Buren in the wake of her death than she ever knew in life.
After her last remaining family member dies, Sara Jenkins goes home to The Hideaway, her grandmother Mags’s ramshackle B&B in Sweet Bay, Alabama. She intends to quickly tie up loose ends then return to her busy life and thriving antique shop in New Orleans. Instead, she learns Mags has willed The Hideaway to her and charged her with renovating it—no small task considering her grandmother’s best friends, a motley crew of senior citizens, still live there.
Rather than hurrying back to New Orleans, Sara stays in Sweet Bay and begins the biggest house-rehabbing project of her career. Amid drywall dust, old memories, and a charming contractor, she discovers that slipping back into life at The Hideaway is easier than she expected.
Then she discovers a box Mags left in the attic with clues to a life Sara never imagined for her grandmother. With help from Mags’s friends, Sara begins to piece together the mysterious life of bravery, passion, and choices that changed her grandmother’s destiny in both marvelous and devastating ways.
When an opportunistic land developer threatens to seize The Hideaway, Sara is forced to make a choice—stay in Sweet Bay and fight for the house and the people she’s grown to love or leave again and return to her successful but solitary life in New Orleans.
“Two endearing heroines and their poignant storylines of love lost and found make this the perfect book for an afternoon on the back porch with a glass of sweet tea.” —Karen White, New York Times bestselling author.

Through the Eyes of a Child (God Created It All) (Volume 1)

God created the heavens and the earth. He created all of the plants, animals and birds of the air. He created man. When God was finished He looked at all that He had created and saw that it was good. Come see the world through the curious eyes of a child.

Recommendations for "Operation Dark Angel"
This is such an important story at such a relevant time. I am so glad to see this is already published, and I do hope it it getting into the hands of many people. You tell the story very well, and Mariel and Nicolaitanes are well-drawn. I particularly like the way you incorporate "historic" events such as 9/11 to make it feel current and relatable. Excellent work! I wish you every success with it!-Faith Rose
This isn't my usual kind of read. I have to say you have a very interesting premise here and you very cleverly weave fact fictions and Bible passages into the work. You are clearly knowledgeable about the subject matter and have put a lot of work into the writing. -Lenny
You have picked a great subject and has done marvelous things with it. I read the story and it is accurate to the bone. This subject is needed to be heard by everyone. All you describe here is sad but true. You have chosen the Antichrist to be born in Italy and I could not agree with you more. It is not the first book on the subject yet I believe that the more this subject is explored, the better it is for the reading community. I will be eagerly awaiting the completion of the series. -Alexandria
A very exciting start to your book as Mariel hears a voice telling her she is to have a child. She's every right to deny the suggestion...she knows better than anyone that she can't be--she's pure. Mariel meets up with Rosalind who explains that she is to give birth to a son, Nicolaitanes and that she would be her protector until the day of the birth. What Mariel doesn't know, is that she will be discarded following the birth and first feeding of the child.
You've given the reader plenty to hang on to, good description and the question of why and what will happen next. The arrangements for the birth and the killing of Mariel signify that there's a powerful reason for Nicolaitanes to arrive on the scene. The book is written well, good dialogue, scenes that are easily taken in from well balanced description. It creates deep thinking on subjects such as the United World Religions trying to be invoked upon the common people and the reason for the appearance of Nicolaitanes in the first place. There's so much more to come in this book--to provide the answers to many questions. I can see this thriller becoming a top seller and worthy of a purchase. -Neville

Lamb of God: Inspirational Story And Journal For Children

A lost lamb, a cross, and a conversation with Jesus are the components in this touching, poetic message of forgiveness, mercy, love, and the Savior's ultimate act of sacrifice. Lamb of God is geared towards ages seven through nine, or second through fourth grades, and includes bible verses to learn, as well as journal pages for young ones to write their thoughts and prayers. The sketches are black and white to purposely have children concentrate on the story itself and the important message contained within it. However, children can color the sketches if they so choose. There is also plenty of space on the story pages for doodling. A great way to introduce children to the art of journaling without it being overwhelming.

grew up in northwest Ohio with eight zany siblings. Married to her high school sweetheart for more years than seems possible, she's also a proud mom, mother-in-law, and grandma.
Jan writes contemporary romance and women's fiction with sharp, witty characters who give as good as they get. The more she writes the more risks she's willing to take with her characters.
When she's not writing, you can find Jan with her nose buried in a book or engaged in some sort of activity to stay fit. She loves spending time with family and friends. A hopeless romantic, she enjoys sunsets, sappy movies, and sitting around a campfire. Though she doesn't claim to have a green thumb, she takes pride in growing all kinds of flowers and plants.
Jan's passionate about everything that involves the written word. She loves to connect with readers. You can find her on Twitter, @JanRomes Facebook, at writer's conferences and book signings. If you love books as much as she does, she'd love to hear from you.
