GG and Mamela is
a heartwarming story of family, love and something we all must ultimately face,
dealing with the loss of a family member. Illustrated with beautiful drawings
and painted in vibrant watercolors, this easy to read picture book tells a
touching story of the bond between a great grandmother (GG) and her granddaughter, a
young child, whom she calls, her Mamela. GG and Mamela love each other very
much and enjoy spending time together. When GG becomes terminally ill, Mamela, must
learn one of life’s hardest lessons, to say good bye, for at least this
Kudos to Belinda
Brock for taking on such a delicate subject matter and prudently incorporating it
into a children’s story. It's a wonderful story for parents, relatives, friend
and more, to read with young children who are facing the loss of a loved
one. Also, hats off to Avi Katz, who brought the story more to life with
her very talented illustrations.
